Description:
A lineup of 80 speakers representing the five SART disciplines and beyond will present 60 workshops and six keynotes at the Fourth National SART Training Conference. Their focus is expanding the capacity of SARTs to promote health and healing of sexual assault victims, hold sex offenders accountable for their crimes, and realize the hope of preventing further sexual violence in their communities. Four different tracks are represented in 1½ hour and 3-hour workshops: General (addressing a broad topic), Specialized (addressing a specific or emerging issue), Specific Populations, and Interactive Sexual Assault Scenario. Workshops in the General and Specialized Tracks are geared to: Examine promising practices and emerging issues, Explore lessons that SARTs have learned through their response to actual incidents and/or their efforts to nurture multidisciplinary collaboration, Expand knowledge and improve technical skills Consider how to evaluate, sustain and advance SART efforts. The Specific Populations Track explores how to remove barriers to services and justice faced by underserved populations of victims. Integrated into the General, Specialized, and Specific Populations Tracks are workshops designed to facilitate discussion among presenters and participants on dealing with local issues and problems
